What is Path of Exile: Secrets of the Atlas?
Path of Exile: Secrets of the Atlas is an upcoming expansion for the action RPG Path of Exile, set to release on June 13, 2025, alongside the Mercenaries of Trarthus challenge league. Announced by Grinding Gear Games (GGG) on June 5, 2025, it introduces a new additive endgame storyline centered on exploring "Threads of Consciousness" and uncovering the secrets of the Originator, alongside three new endgame bosses. The expansion revamps Kingsmarch and the Betrayal mechanic, introduces new crafting items like Shaper’s Exalted Orb and Elder’s Exalted Orb, and includes quality-of-life improvements, such as pausing the game via the menu or fullscreen interfaces and a crafting bench option combining Orb of Chance and Orb of Scouring effects. The Atlas UI sees updates, including visual highlights for currency-affected maps and potential new Atlas passive tree mechanics, possibly involving socketable cluster jewels. The expansion also retains the gold-based auction house and currency exchange from previous leagues.
