Overview
Operation: Floodgate is a new dungeon in World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2, located in The Ringing Deeps near the Waterworks dam. It features four bosses—Big M.O.M.M.A., Demolition Duo (Keeza & Bront), Swampface, and Geezle Gigazap—with challenging mechanics and environmental hazards like electrified water and ticking time bombs. Mythic+ runs require coordination, precise movement, and awareness of affixes. The dungeon timer is 33 minutes for a standard Mythic+ completion, with tighter timers for +2 (25:36) and +3 (19:12).

General Tips

Preparation: Ensure level 80 and appropriate item level (around 610+ for lower keys, 620+ for higher). Use the Mythic Dungeon Tools (MDT) addon to plan routes. Boss Strategies

Big M.O.M.M.A. Key Mechanics: Mobilize Mechadrones: Summons 4 Darkfuse Mechadrones. Interrupt their Maximum Distortion cast and avoid Doom Storm circles targeting random players. Jumpstart: Killing all Mechadrones triggers Jumpstart, where Big M.O.M.M.A. takes 200% increased damage but deals group-wide Nature damage every 1.5s for 12s. Use big DPS cooldowns here. A growing electric puddle spawns after—move the boss to avoid it. Sonic Boom: Targets a random player, shooting a wave that silences and pushes back, exploding in a 7yd AoE on terrain contact. The targeted player should point it away and use movement abilities to dodge. Electrocrush: Tank buster dealing Nature damage with a 10s DoT. Tanks should use defensives. Strategy: Focus Mechadrones to trigger Jumpstart quickly. Save burst DPS for Jumpstart phases. Move the boss to one side of the platform to conserve space as electric puddles grow. Tanks position with their back to the console to avoid knockbacks into Shock Water. Demolition Duo (Keeza Quickfuse & Bront) Key Mechanics: Ticking Time Bombs: Keeza spawns bombs that explode after 30s, causing Deflagration (deadly fire damage, stacking). Knocking bombs into the air (via Bront’s Barreling Charge or dispelling Gel) makes them explode safely, dealing minor damage in a 4yd AoE. Barreling Charge: Bront charges three times, targeting a random player twice, then the tank. Each charge knocks back bombs in its path. Aim charges to clear distant bombs first. Gel: Magic debuff on a random player, dealing fire damage. Dispelling it knocks up nearby bombs. Dispel only when the player is near bombs to maximize clears. Post-Fight: After defeating the duo, use the gun dropped by Keeza (Keeza’s B.B.B.F.G.) to clear extra circles in the next area, easing the Swampface fight. Strategy: Balance damage on both bosses to avoid the Divided Duo buff. Coordinate Barreling Charge to clear bombs efficiently. Dispel Gel strategically near bomb clusters. Use the gun post-fight to reduce hazards. Swampface Key Mechanics: Razorchoke Vines: Binds 4 players (2 pairs), pulling them together if they move beyond 14 yards. Avoid Mudslide (frontal cone) and Awaken the Swamp waves without breaking vine tethers. Sludge Claws: Tank buster. Use active mitigation. Awaken the Swamp: Group-wide damage. Use major healing cooldowns. Bubble: Avoid ground visuals from Bubbles’ attacks. Use defensives for Backwash. Strategy: Pre-plan movement to dodge Mudslide and waves while keeping vine tethers intact. Healers prioritize dispelling Overcharge DoT from trash mobs. Tanks kite Swampface to safe zones. Geezle Gigazap Key Mechanics: Gigazap: Hits 2 random players with a 4yd AoE, applying a Nature DoT and turning nearby water into Shock Water. Spread out to avoid cleaving allies or puddles. Thunder Punch: Tank buster with a knockback and 4s Nature DoT. Tanks position with their back to a console to avoid falling off or hitting water. Kill-o-Block Barrier: At full energy, Geezle gains 80% damage reduction and deals AoE damage every 2.5s. Prevent this by killing Mechadrones to trigger Jumpstart. Strategy: Interrupt Mechadrone casts and avoid their Doom Storm circles. Burst Mechadrones to trigger Jumpstart and prevent Kill-o-Block Barrier. Tanks use defensives for Thunder Punch and position carefully. Spread for Gigazap to minimize Shock Water spread.
