WoW Season of Mastery

Wow Season of Mastery: a brand new WoW Classic Hardcore mode?

On the 16th of November 2021 the day finally arrived you all have been waiting for; WoW Season of Mastery!
Once upon a time in 2019 everybody was delighted by the long-awaited WoW Classic servers. However, one of the aspects the WoW community did not approve of was the difficulty of this WoW Vanilla experience.
Now the time has finally come Blizzard decided to listen to the community by launching WoW Classic Hardcore Mode!

What are the main differences between WoW Season of Mastery and WoW Classic?

Unlike Old Classic, the new timeline for SoM should take around 12 months, so Blizzard increased the experience gain rate from the quests, but at the same time nerfing dungeon boosting.
The developers finally found proper mechanisms to deal with the problem of botting and dungeon boosting. They also nerfed the pickpocketing mechanic by limiting the number of pickpockets per dungeon.
Also, Blizzard decided to nerf mage dungeon farming. This so-called " mage boosting" was a big problem and it really caused the WoW community to be upset by unfair advantages for mages. To tackle this issue, a lot of enemies in dungeons will have immune to the slow effects.
This version of the game will start with the PVP system and Battlegrounds at the release date. The PVP system will also be adjusted for the new timeline, so the ranking will not take as long in WoW Classic. However, it will still not be easy!

Finally, Blizzard listened to the community by returning old mechanics and significantly increasing the difficulty of PVE content, especially the raids. It turned out that the bosses were still too easy, despite having double HP and more damage. So you may experience more difficulties ahead of this! Yet even though the game will be much harder than it originally was, the " Classic style" of the game won't disappear.
Blizzard also turned off-world buff mechanics in PVE raids and increase the difficulty of almost all encounters, and they removed the debuff slot mechanics, This change will give a chance for some new specs and classes to be viable in PvE.

That's not all, Blizzard added hardcore mode in WoW Season of Mastery for leveling and PvE.
The new Soul of Iron feature will give you a chance to run all of the content without death, in case if you fail this challenge you can try it again with a new character, but your current character will be still available to play.
Blizzard also increased the spawn places of all herbs and ore nodes, so leveling your professions will be much faster compared to the old Classic.
Another added feature is Meeting Stones being converted into Summoning Stones. This feature originally got introduced during TBC content, however, it used to be a huge pain to move to the dungeon with five people or have to rely on a warlock. This will not really affect your gameplay, other than less wait time to start your dungeon.

So, is WoW Season of Mastery worth playing?

In conclusion, we would like to say WoW Season of Mastery will be an interesting experience for hardcore players and a real challenge for casual players for anyone who disliked the difficulty and the toxic gameplay of the previous WoW Classic version.
With this Season of Mastery update, annoying world buffs and deleted or nerfed game mechanics and past time.
So WoW Season of Mastery is a pure Vanilla experience at the modern difficulty of gaming!
